An entry for Maiden In Lost Land contest by =karemelancholia (details can be found in this journal entry: [link]).

I had only two days to come up with some idea, and I was thinking about it for one day and one night. The theme was very wide, and I just didn't want to crate any peacefull atmosphere, no pretty looking girls in dressess wandering happily around forest. I wanted to show FEAR of the unknown.
And I totally hate the result >.< my skills suck >.<

size: 30x40 cm
medium: W&N watercolours, fabriano paper, W&N art masking fluid, white ink, black gelpen, black inkpen, my ex-boyfriend's toothbrush (no kiddin' xD)

i know this was a long time ago and you might have changed your mind about how talented you are by now but just in case you havnt i just wanted to say that your totally crazy because this peice of art totally rocks!!lol

i mean if i could do something as meaningful as this i would be really impressed with myself,but i can never think of any worthy ideas.lol

Well then I guess I just lack this part of brain. I almost never feel happy with my art. But hell, I do it anyway, good option when you want to kill some time

And it's more of hard work than actuall talent (believe me - I saw true talent, and I'm not even close). Sorry for the late reply, I've been sick and could not sit at my desk for too long. Thank you so much for your comment!

This is a very interesting piece. I especially like your mix of free watercolor washes with the bold ink lines.
Maybe that's it: it's very bold. And I like that.
